Kevin McCann

Kevin is a poet and writer whose work has been featured in 30 anthologies, including The World at Our Feet (Macmillan, 2010), Puppy Poems (Macmillan, 2011) and Junior Secondary English (Pearson Education - Asia). His poems, stories, feature articles and writing strategies, frames and worksheets have also been published in Literacy Time and Child Education (Scholastic), and TLC KIDS and TLC TEACHER (The Literacy Club) both in print and online.

Joint winner of the Writing Together Teacher Writer Award in 2006, Kevin has worked as a Writer in Schools for, amongst others, the Poetry Society, Sefton EAZ and Top of the Tree as well as assorted community arts projects and local libraries. He is currently completing a project which has involved working with looked-after children for Whitewood and Fleming.

Kevin is able to work with children from Nursery/Reception upwards and can offer both performance and writing workshops, as well as themed days with titles like The Green Web, Deck their Minds and It was a Dark and Stormy Night. He also offers a Bespoke Words day where he can put together a day specifically suited to a school's individual needs.
